David, a physician, trained in public health at the Oxford Regional Health Authority, after moving to Germany to join the Dept. of Tropical Hygiene at the University of Heidelberg, is now taking up consulting assignments with PDI. He has over 20 years’ experience in consultancy, research and teaching in global health and has worked a lot in Africa and in South and East Asia. David’s specific areas of technical expertise include health sector reforms ranging from hospital autonomy to SWAps, development of management systems to improve health service delivery, but now he concentrates on designing and supporting the implementation of a variety of demand-side and supply-side financing esp voucher schemes in Asia and Africa.
